Samuel Spirio Johnston
Died unexpectedly November 15, 2016 in Lexington, MA. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, July 21, 1994. Sam was friendly, funny, loyal and also a gifted athlete. He was a black belt in karate and also competed at high levels in both alpine ski racing and rock climbing. Sam reached the National Championships numerous years in rock climbing and competed internationally for the US Climbing Team. He also loved animals, reading, music, cooking and the times he shared with family and friends.
Sam is survived by his mother, Lisa Spirio and sister, Aliza Spirio Johnston of South Weymouth, MA; his father and his wife, Steven and Lauren Johnston of Litchfield, NH, his maternal grandfather and his wife, Carmelo and Linda Spirio of Lovettsville, VA; his paternal grandparents, Tom and Jane Johnston of Pinedale, Wyoming and his best friend, Ja'Rell Johnson and the Jacobs family of Dorchester, MA. He is also survived by numerous family members and friends throughout the US and abroad. He will always be lovingly remembered and sadly missed.
