John M. Reid

Of Waltham, passed away early Saturday morning, July 21, 2018 at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 85.

Born and raised in Chelsea to the late Aaron and Annie (Delaney) Reid, he also spent time living in East Boston until finally settling in Waltham in 1975.

John Served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the John M. Sullivan V.F.W. Post. 10334 inWaltham.

Mr. Reid worked as a truck driver for many years and was a proud member of the Teamsters Local 25.

John loved Country Music. His favorite trip was going to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville with his wife. He also liked taking trips to the casino.. He will be remembered by his family and friends for being such a hard worker and for his devotion to family.

He was the Beloved father of the late Jean Verbanas.

John is survived by his loving wife Jeanette (Guerreri) Reid, his devoted children Salvatore Reid of Medford, Donna Thomann of Waltham, John A. Reid of Marlboro, and David Reid of Marlboro, and his brothers Harold and Joseph Reid. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., Waltham, Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 10 am to 12 noon followed by a Memorial Service in celebration of John's life at 12 noon. Parking attendants will be on duty.
