Obituary for Paul J. Caissie

Of Waltham, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon September 23rd, 2018 surrounded by his loving family in his home at the age of 72.

Born on September 25, 1945 in St. Anne, New Brunswick, Canada; son of the late Martin and Yvonne (Richards) Caissie, Paul was raised and educated in St. Anne, New Brunswick and came to the United States in 1964 settling in Waltham for the past 54 years. He always had a fondness for his home in Canada and spent many summers in New Brunswick but also had a love for the beaches and ocean in Florida. Paul spent the past several winters on Treasure Island in Florida.

Paul was employed as a Carpenter throughout his life; he had been employed in the maintenance department at Lasell College in Newton for over 25 years. He was a longtime member of the Carpenters Union Local #40.

He was a member of the French American Victory Club in Waltham and the Joseph F. Hill American Legion Post #156 in Waltham.

Paul loved being surrounded by family and friends. He enjoyed sitting outdoors, listening to country music, playing cards and going fishing.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years Claudette M. (LeBlanc) Caissie, his loving sons Dennis Caissie and his wife Amy of Waltham, Stephen Caissie and his wife Lisa of Waltham and Michael Caissie and his wife Lynn of Waltham, his cherished grandchildren Joey, Derek, D.J., Daniel, Julia, M.J., and Genevieve, and his dear siblings Donald Caissie and his wife Angela, Claudette Caissie, and Marie Leger all of New Brunswick. In addition he is survived by many nieces & nephews.

Paul was predeceased by his dear sisters Geraldine Caissie, Delcia Caissie and Yvette Maranda.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Paul’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Saturday morning Sept. 29th at 11:00 a.m. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons on Friday evening Sept. 28th from 5 - 8 p.m. Parking attendants on duty.
