Obituary for Sebastiano "Iano" Patti

Of Belmont, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning January 16, 2018 with loving family by his side at Sancta Maria Nursing Facility in Cambridge at the age of 83.
 
Born on August 19, 1934 in Rometta Marea, Sicily; son of the late Francesco and Maria (Capilli) Patti, Sebastiano immigrated to the United States in 1968 and has been resident of Belmont ever since. 
 
Sebastiano was a member of the laborer’s union and helped build Belmont High School in 1970.  He went on to work in maintenance at Belmont Country Club and owned & operated his own landscaping business before retiring in 2004. He loved to garden, go dancing with his wife and their friends and enjoyed spending Sundays with his loving family.   
 
Sebastiano is survived by his beloved wife Maria Rita (Repici) Patti and their children: Mr. & Mrs. Franco Patti of Belmont, Connie Patti of Belmont and Cristina Patti of Lexington.  He was the cherished grandfather of Frank, John, and Shannon Patti, Brittani and Mikaela Loukas, Anna Maria and Anthony Robertson; adoring great-grandfather of Ava and Luca Patti and Havana Patti-Parks.  He was the dear brother of Lucia Ruggeri of California, Matteo Patti of Sicily, Antonino Patti, Grazia Addamo and Maria Arcoraci all of Australia and the late Concetto, Guiseppe, Salvatore and Natalino Patti.  In addition he is survived by many nieces & nephews.  
 
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in celebration of Sebastiano's Life from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapel, 325 Trapelo Road, BELMONT on Saturday morning Jan. 20 at 8:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Joseph's Church, 130 Common Street, Belmont at 9:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday Jan. 19th from 4 - 8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
