Obituary for Mary Anne Bako (Hockridge)
Mary Anne Bako, (Hockridge), 81, formerly of Waltham passed away peacefully on Sunday
evening December 26, 2021.
Mary Anne was born in Boston to the late Clarence and Marion Hockridge (Goodrich) on August 08, 1940.
As a child, Mary Anne excelled in school and was an avid reader. After graduating from Boston
University and receiving her Master’s Degree in Economics she went on to work in Finance. Later she
received her Real Estate Broker’s license and went on to work at Regan Insurance of Waltham for many
years. Mary Anne travelled the world when she was younger. She enjoyed reading adventure novels and
creating art. She also liked telling stories of her childhood in New Hampshire and other tales to all her
family and friends. Mary Anne was a great story teller she could talk for hours and she loved playing
records from her large collection of music.
Predeceased by her husband Louis Bako Sr, her mother Marion Hockridge, father Clarence Hockridge,
sister Janet and brother Sonny. She is survived by her son Louis, and his wife Laura of Worcester. Her
son Fred, and his wife Rachel of Raynham. Her grandsons Lukas and Austin. Her sister Nancy Lovell, and
several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects during visiting hours Wednesday
January 5, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm. In The Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels
located, 773 Moody Street Waltham, MA. Parking Attendants will be on duty.
A private family burial will be held at a later date.
