Obituary for Francine Pennino (Pennino)

Of Boston, passed away peacefully Friday January 26th, 2018 in Belmont Manor Nursing Home at the age of 70. 

Born on September 2, 1947 in Cambridge; daughter of the late Francis M. Pennino and Louise (Lomedico) Pennino, Francine was raised in Arlington but has spent the majority of her life in Boston. 

A graduate of Arlington High School with the Class of 1965, Francine furthered her education graduating from Simmons College in Boston with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance. She went on to teach courses in Real Estate Finance as an Instructor at Northeastern University and Boston University.

Francine had been employed as a Financial Analyst in the Banking Industry throughout her life. She began her career with New England Merchants National Bank and advanced to become an Officer there. She went on to work at Kuras & Company, and finished her career at the Boston Company Real Estate Counsel. Francine was a member of New England Women in Real Estate (NEWIRE), where she served on the public strategies committee as well as the Real Estate Finance Association.

She had a love of cats and had rescued and fostered over 100 cats throughout her life. Francine volunteered with the New England regional group of the Siamese Cat Rescue Center of Virginia. 

In her spare time she enjoyed fabric arts by making her own clothes, draperies and cat accessories. Through the years she also enjoyed to cook, garden and go swimming.

Francine is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years John H. Pilling, her dear brother Arthur Pennino and his wife Jane Spencer of Concord, her sister-in-law Debbie Pennino of Belmont, her uncle Fred Pennino of Arlington, her aunt Theresa Pennino Bernrd of Hopkinton, her godmother Lillian Zebal of Belmont, and her nephew Matthew Stephen Pennino. In addition she is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

A Memorial Service in celebration of Francine's Life will be scheduled at a later date. 

Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the MSPCA, 350 S Huntington Ave, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130, the Ellen Gifford Shelter, 30 Undine Rd, Brighton, MA 02135, or The Last Resort, 1126 Broadway, Hanover MA 02339.
