Obituary for Richard John "Ricky" Gobbi

Of Waltham, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning February 4th, 2018 in his home at the age of 42.

Born on March 8, 1975 in Waltham; beloved son of John Victor Gobbi and Sharon M. (Bradley) Gobbi of North Carolina, Ricky was raised and in Waltham and had been a resident of Belmont for several years and Billerica for 10 years.

A graduate of Waltham High School with the Class of 1993, Ricky was employed as a Food Service Manager with the Sodexo Corporation at Brandeis University in Waltham. For many years Ricky worked in the Restaurant industry at the Naked Fish & 99 Restaurants.

Ricky was an amazing father who devoted as much time as possible to spend with his children. He would take Mariah Paige on her Daddy dates, to ballet practice and horse back riding. He coached Waltham Little League for Jake Ryan, and taught him to play football, baseball and would always be there cheering him on during wrestling matches.

He had a passion for following and playing sports. He loved playing ice hockey, street hockey and baseball. He holds the all-time batting record for the Waltham Little Nippers.

Ricky is survived by his devoted & loving children Jake Ryan Gobbi and Mariah Paige Gobbi, his former wife Adrina (Young) Gobbi, his parents John and Sharon (Bradley) Gobbi, his siblings John Victor Gobbi Jr. and Jaimie-Lynn Gobbi, and his nieces & nephews Dana Jon Parello, Jazmeen Marie Gobbi, Brianna Charlotte Gobbi, John Victor Gobbi III and Julia Ann Gobbi. In addition he is survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous close & dear friends.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Ricky's Life at the St. James Armenian Apostolic Church, 465 Mount Auburn Street, WATERTOWN on Friday morning Feb. 9th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Thursday Feb. 8th from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
