Of Lawrence, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon February 10, 2018 surrounded by his loving family in the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston at the age of 70.
Born on April 15, 1947 in Orocovis, Puerto Rico; son of the late Juan Jose Alvarado and Sofia Aviles, Calixto came from Puerto Rico to Waltham as a young man and resided most of his life in Waltham until moving to Lawrence in 2005.
Calixto was employed as a Metal Plater with Acton Metal Processing Corporation in Waltham for many years
He loved driving his car everywhere sightseeing and visiting new places. He loved his family and will be deeply missed by all who loved and cared for him throughout his life.
Calixto is survived by his beloved wife of more then 50 years Miriam (Torres) Alvarado, his loving & devoted children Calixto Alvarado Jr and Deborah Alvarado both of Lawrence, his dear siblings Raul of Puerto Rico, Manuel of Waltham, Michael of Puerto Rico, Rubin of Pennsylvania, and Josefina of Florida. In addition he is survived by 6 cherished grandchildren, a great grandson, many nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews and cousins.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Calixto's Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Friday evening Feb. 16th at 7:00 p.m. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
