Obituary for Catherine Marie "Cathy T." Tobin (Stack)

Of Waltham, passed away peacefully Sunday February 25, 2018 at the Maristhill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waltham at the age of 77.

Born on September 14, 1940 in Boston; daughter of the late Joseph Stack and Marie (Sullivan) Stack, Cathy grew up in the Mission Hill section of Boston before moving to Waltham for over 35 years and then residing in Arlington for 25 years.

A graduate of Mission High School, Cathy furthered her education at Bentley College in Waltham graduating with an Associate’s degree.

Cathy was employed in the Human Resources office for W.H. Nichols Manufacturing of Waltham and with the CDM Engineering Corporation in Cambridge for many years.

For over 40 years she has been a Friend of Bill W. and had a love for the beach and Castle Island in South Boston. Cathy had a passion for helping others and always being there for those in need.
She spent much of her spare time volunteering at various local hospitals. Her greatest enjoyment in life came from spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband the late James J. Tobin.

Cathy is survived by her devoted & loving children Judy Hampton and her late husband Stephen of Tacoma, WA, Pamela Tebeau and her husband Scott of Olympia, WA and Michael Berry and his wife Melissa (Ellison) Berry of Belmont, her cherished grandchildren William, Danny, Alexis, Mikayla, Michael, Jacob, Ava, Rachel, Ashley, Michael, Kara and Nick, her adoring great grandchildren Corey, Dakota and Olivia, and her dear siblings Gerald Stack of Orlando, FL, and Margaret Stack of Tacoma, WA. In addition she is survived by many nieces & nephews.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Catherine’s Life at The Basilica and Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Help “Mission Church” 1545 Tremont St, Boston on Tuesday March 6th at 10:00 a.m. Visiting Hours will be held in the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Monday March 5th from 4 – 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 186 Highland Ave, Somerville, MA 02143.
