Obituary for William E. "Bill" Kane

William E. Kane

Of Waltham, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning April 11th, 2018 at the Maristhill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waltham after a long illness at the age of 85.

Born on November 12, 1932 in Woburn; son of the late Michael Kane and Martha (Kelly) Kane. Bill was born, raised, educated and lived for many years in Woburn in before moving to Waltham 37 years ago.

A graduate of Boston College High School, Bill joined the United States Navy and proudly served for several years. After returning from the service, Bill worked as a for Commercial Union Insurance Agent for 39 years.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Winchester and a member of the Insurance Board for many years.

Bill was a diehard and passionate New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox Fan.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years Mildred C. "Mille" (Zampitella) Hovsepian Kane, his loving children Daniel Kane of Woburn, Joanne Jordan and her husband John of Stoneham, James, Cheryl, Michael and Joseph Hovsepian and his partner Cheryl Murphy all of Waltham, the late Maureen Yuskus, William E. Kane Jr, and John Hovsepian, cherished grandfather of Mark, Erin, Tara, Tiffany, Breanna, Paige, Corey, Derek, Ryan, Scott and Steven, and dear brother of Mary Lynch of Florida and the late Michael Kane and Jeanette Dowd. In addition he is survived by 9 adoring great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of William’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Saturday morning April 14th at 10:00 a.m. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons on Friday April 13th from 4 – 8 p.m. and on Saturday morning prior to the service from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
