Of South Dennis passed away on June 14, 2018 at the age of 88. Though he lived in South Dennis, for most of his life Waltham was his home. It was where he was born, where he graduated from Waltham High, where he met his beloved wife, Barbara, and raised his three children, Roy, Brian and Laura. They all already miss him terribly, as do their spouses, Ayn, Joyce and Phil. His three grandchildren, Katie, Kevin and Brett, miss their beloved Daddy-Pops.

He served proudly and honorably with the United States Army in Germany during the Korean War. Ed was a past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10274 East Dennis.

Ed attended Bentley School of Accounting and began his professional career with the Sears Roebuck Company in Waltham at the age of 15. Over more than four decades, he worked in stores all over greater Boston, from Quincy to Lynn, eventually managing the warehouse in Allston before retiring at age 59. More than a job, Sears was the place he met his wife and the source of many lifetime friendships.

Ed also had many lifelong friends from his hometown, as a bunch of neighborhood buddies developed into “The Gang,” a tightknit group of friends that grew to include spouses and eventually spilled into the next generation.

Ed loved road trips with Barbara and the kids, whether he was taking them to Nova Scotia or Disney World, a Sunday drive along Route 2, or a quick trip for ice cream. He loved the seashore and passed it onto his kids with summer vacations near West Dennis Beach. Later he enjoyed soaking up the sun at St. Pete Beach on visits to Roy and his family in Florida.

After retiring, Ed was free to pursue his true passion — golf. For more than 25 years, he worked in the pro shop at Dennis Highlands Golf Course on Cape Cod, and during his off hours you could find him there on the links, often at the first tee time.

Ed was also a passionate sports fan. Of course he loved the Boston teams, especially the Patriots and Red Sox.

Ed was born on September 26, 1929 in Waltham; son of the late Joseph Zeno LeBlanc and Annie (Aucoin) LeBlanc.

Ed was raised in Waltham and lived for many years in North Waltham before moving to South Dennis 30 years ago. He was a devoted and faithful parishioner of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted in Waltham.

Ed was predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara (Breton) LeBlanc on March 10, 2018. He is survived by his loving children, Roy LeBlanc and his wife, Ayn (Kearney) LeBlanc, of St. Petersburg, FL, Brian LeBlanc and his wife, Joyce (Greene) LeBlanc, of Woburn, and Laura LeBlanc and her husband, Philip Nudelman, of Los Angeles; his cherished grandchildren, Katelyn “Katie'' LeBlanc and her husband, Richard “Ricky'' Klopfenstein, of Los Angeles, Kevin LeBlanc of St. Petersburg, FL, and Breton “Brett’’ LeBlanc of Woburn; and his in-laws Louis Millar and his wife, Arlene, of Sanford, NC, Dick Millar, also of Sanford, and Gerry LeBlanc of Venice, FL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was brother of the late Pauline LeBlanc Marchese of Waltham and the late John Alfred LeBlanc of Venice, FL; brother-in-law of the late Gail Millar Bloomer of West Nyack, NY.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in celebration of Edward’s life from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., Waltham, on Wednesday, June 20 at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 920 Trapelo Road, Waltham, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 19 from 4-8 p.m. Parking attendants on duty.
