Susan Pauline Rowland

Of Waltham, passed away, Friday, November 2, 2018 at the Care One of Lexington Nursing Home. She was 78.

Born and raised in Watertown to the late Lawrence J. and Mary (Burke) Gleason, Susan spent some time in Somerville before moving to Waltham 50 years ago. She was a graduate of Watertown High School.

In her spare time, Susan enjoyed playing BINGO, watching the Bruins and Red Sox, frog collectables, and going to Apple Valley Campground in Acton, Maine. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was the beloved wife of the late Earl T. Rowland, and sister of the late Ann Ricci, Marylou Skahan, and Lawrence, Justin, James, and Michael Gleason.

She is survived by her loving children: Earl Rowland and his wife Nancy of Waltham, Waltham Deputy Fire Chief, Brock Rowland and his wife Karen of Waltham, Mark Rowland and his wife Chrissy of FL, Rhenea Regan and her husband Dan of Windham, NH, and Noelle Daly and her husband Robert of Waltham; as well as her brothers David Gleason and his wife Paula of Las Vegas, and Mark Gleason and his wife Phyllis of Chelmsford, her cherished grandchildren Nicole and her husband Kurtis, Dan, Kasey, Brian, Jessica, Michelle, Mark, and Christopher Rowland, Nick, Tess , and Mitch Regan, and Mackenzie and Bobby Daly, Jr. and great grandchildren Jada and Mali. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Susan’s life at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 11 am. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
