Obituary for Elvira Livia Ehmann (Petrescu)

Elvira L. (Petrescu) Ehmann

Of Belmont, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at her home. She was 69.

Born in Detroit, MI, to the late Ironim T. and Maria L. (Stanca) Barsan, she moved around spending time in California, Ohio, Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan and Washington. She spent 12 years in Jacksonville, FL before settling in Belmont in 1983.

Elvira earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and had her Master’s degree in Education from Cambridge College. She worked as a High School Math Teacher for many years, as well as a Resume Writer and Salesperson. Recently she changed careers to become an Energy Healer.

She had an affinity for numbers. She loved math, and loved teaching math. She had a passion for being there for other people and she was always reaching out so that she knew that loved ones were ok. She never met a person that she could not love and her greatest fear was that the people important to her did not know how much she loved them.

She enjoyed traveling, riding the rails with Amtrak, and visiting national parks, resulting in visits to all 50 states. She will be remembered for her annual Christmas letters, her generosity and always making time for people. She loved being in the kitchen, whether it was participating in cooking, sharing recipes, eating, or having conversations over tea. In her spare time, she also enjoyed watching comedy movies, TV, folk dancing, and watching her children (and she claimed well more than her own) play and have fun.

She was the loving mother of the late William E. Ehmann

She is survived by her loving husband William J. Ehmann, her devoted sons Michael Ehmann of Seattle and Eric Ehmann of Belmont, and her brothers Viorel Petrescu of Los Angeles, Liviu Barsan if Jacksonville, and Daryl Barsan of Orange Park, Fl. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Celebration of Life at the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 325 Trapelo Rd., BELMONT, Friday, January 4, 2019 at 6 pm. Parking attendants will be on duty.
