Obituary for Thomas B. Emberley

Of Waltham, passed away unexpectedly early Monday morning May 20th, 2019 in his home at the age of 83.

Born on February 29, 1936 in Watertown; son of the late Henry and Edith (Keats) Emberley. Tom was a resident of Waltham for most of his life.

Tom proudly served his country with the United States Navy during the Korean War.

A graduate of Northeastern University, Tom received his Masters degree from Suffolk University in Boston. He was employed as a Quality Control Engineer at C.S. Draper Laboratory in Cambridge for over 25 years.
His greatest enjoyment in life came from being surrounded by his family & friends; he loved the summers in New Hampshire with his kids; Sunday dinners as a family and cookouts in the backyard. In his spare time he enjoyed reading poetry by Robert Frost and E. Houseman, cooking, knitting and doing home repairs. He also enjoyed listening to folk music. In his own words Tom said "I’ve had a wonderful life filled with love from my family & friends".

Prior to his illness, Tom was a member of Sacred Heart Parish community in Waltham and an active member of the Sons of Italy Dante Alighieri Lodge # 648 in Waltham.

Tom was predeceased by his beautiful daughter Annette Emberley.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Angelina "Angie" (Fanara) Emberley, his devoted & loving sons; Thomas B. Emberley Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Littleton, Daniel Emberley and his husband Michael Seto of Washington DC., David Emberley and his wife Priscilla of Shrewsbury, John Emberley and his wife Miho of Northfield, NH and Anthony Emberley and his wife Susan Smith-Emberley of San Francisco, CA. In addition he is survived by 9 cherished grandchildren, 5 adoring great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Tom's Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St, Waltham on Friday morning May 24th at 11:00 a.m. Interment with United States Navy Military Honors will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel prior to the funeral service on Friday from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
