Obituary for Antoinetta C. "Ann" Giudice (Pizzurro)

Antoinetta (Ann) Giudice (Pizzurro) died peacefully at her home on Monday, April 4 in Belmont, Massachusetts at the age of 97.

She is survived by her six daughters, Anita Catalano (Zito) and her husband Joseph of Nashua, NH, Fran Elwell Ventura (Zito) of Hudson, Lucia Giudice and her husband John Leonard of Chicago IL, Christina Gaynor (Giudice) and her husband David of Stratham, NH, Linda Lehner (Giudice) and her husband Kevin of Boxborough, and Gilda (Gigi) Lengieza (Giudice) and her husband Ken of Stow. Ann was blessed with 16 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Louis (Happy) Giudice, her son Mario Zito of Everett, and her first husband, Mario Zito of Belmont.

Ann was born on December 25, 1924, in Chelsea, MA. She lived in East Boston and the North End before moving to Belmont to raise her family, where she resided for over 60 years. Above all, Ann cherished her family and valued her faith. She was an active member of New Roads Catholic Community, formerly St. Luke’s Parish in Belmont. Ann was often found in her kitchen cooking and baking for her family as her home cooked meals and desserts were expressions of her love.
Ann worked for the Town of Belmont as the cafeteria manager for the Kendall and Wellington Elementary schools where she delighted in adding her own touches to the school lunches to “make them taste more homemade” for the students and teachers. She proudly shared her culinary talents in her adult education Italian cooking classes and published a cookbook of her recipes that sold hundreds of copies. She avidly read The Boston Globe daily cover to cover, since 1984.

Family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Ann's life and remember the love and friendship she shared with others at a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday morning April 11th at Saint Luke's Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
