Maria Esther de Tavera

Of Waltham, a great woman of unshakable faith in God and devoted to the Lord of Miracles has departed to the house of the Lord; Mrs. María Esther Timana Vda. of Tavera. Peruvian by birth who in 1970 she brought the devotion of the Lord of Miracles to Bolivia. Not only was she the promoter of the construction of the Sanctuary of the Lord of Miracles in Cochabamba Boliva, but she also organized the brotherhood of the Lord of Miracles that to this day has hundreds of devotees who follow the works of charity and love as well to God by serving others especially the marginalized.

Maria Esther Vda de Tavera leaves as her legacy to all who knew her great love for God, her service to others and her renunciation of the material to give way to a life of evangelization and complete spiritual dedication.

This great woman leaves an immense void in the heart of her daughter Genoveva Tavera and her grandchildren Sebastian, Adrian, Maria Belen, Carlitos, Tony and Pamela. As well as in Nercy, Carmelita and Carlos Tavera.

Rest in peace and fly high... Let the perpetual light shine for her.

Ha partido a la casa del Señor una gran mujer de inquebrantable fe en Dios y devota del Señor de los Milagros; La Señora. María Esther Timana Vda. de Tavera. Peruana de nacimiento que en el 1970 llevo la devoción del Señor de los Milagros a Bolivia. No solo fue la impulsora de la construcción del Santuario del Señor de los Milagros en Cochabamba Bolivia, sino que organizo la hermandad del Señor de los Milagros que hasta el día de hoy cuenta con cientos de devotos que siguen, así como ella las obras de caridad y amor a Dios mediante el servicio al prójimo especialmente del marginado.

Maria Esther Vda de Tavera deja como legado a todos los que la conocieron su gran amor a Dios, el servicio al prójimo y su renuncia a lo material para dar paso a una vida de evangelización y completa entrega espiritual.

Esta gran mujer deja un inmenso vacío en el corazón de su hija Genoveva Tavera y sus nietos Sebastian, Adrian, Maria Belen, Carlitos, Tony, Pamela y Dexter. Maria Esther también fue madre para Nercy Tavera, Carmelita Tavera y de su hijo de corazón Carlos Tavera.

¡Descansa en paz y vuela muy alto Esthercita! Que Dios deje brillar para ti su luz perpetua.


A wake will be held in Maria's honor in accordance with CDC, federal, state, and local guidelines in The Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home located at 773 Moody Street, Waltham, MA, on Thursday April 08, 2021 from 5-8 pm. For those who wish to pay their final respects but are unable to attend, please be sure to sign the guestbook at www.BrascoFuneralHome.com.

Following the guidelines of the Archdiocese of Boston, family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Maria’s life and remember the love she shared with those she touched during a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church located, 133 School St. Waltham on Friday, April 9th at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Mt. Feake Cemetery, located at 203 Prospect St. Waltham, MA.
