Obituary for Eddy Michel "Didi" Telemaque

On the evening of November 9, 2021, Eddy Michel Telemaque (also called “Didi” by his wife and mother) passed away surrounded by family at his home in Waltham, MA. He was 68 years old.


Eddy was born on September 29, 1953, as the second child of Joseph and Carmita Telemaque in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.


Through his formative years, Eddy excelled in his scholastic studies, enjoyed playing “street” soccer, painting, and was an avid comic book reader. He obtained his BA degree in Haiti. In 1975, he served in The United States Army in the Field Artillery Unit, stationed in Bamberg, Germany.


After his honorable discharge from the Army in 1979 He attended Central New England College, graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Eddy subsequently worked with various engineering firms in MA, (HP, Philips Medical, etc.) where he specialized in quality control and compliance as a certified Lean Six Sigma. Eddy also had a passion for running, completing multiple marathons in his lifetime.


Eddy and Onidia “Carmen” - his partner and best friend – married in 2010, and they spent many happy years together, traveling frequently, and spending time with family and friends. They spent more than a decade working hard, dancing, doing exercises and leading active and healthy lifestyles.


Eddy will be remembered as an outgoing and jovial son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Eddy is survived by his wife Onidia Lara and his stepchildren, Erika and Gerardo. He is also survived by his first wife, Anne and their children, Enrico and Jessica. He also leaves behind his mother, Carmita and his siblings: Robert, Pierre, Philippe, Marie Jocelyne and Reginald. Additionally, Eddy is survived by many maternal and paternal cousins.
The Telemaque and Onidia Lara and Perez - Lara families would like to express their sincere thanks to Drs. Hankins, Gross, Radwan, and staff at Jamaica Plains VA Oncology and to all who have offered support and comfort during this difficult time.


Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to gather in the love Eddy shared during a Funeral Service on Monday November 15th from 12-1pm in The Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons Memorial Chapels located 773 Moody Waltham, MA. At the Family’s request, masks are required. A PRIVATE committal Service will be held immediately afterwards, at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. Parking Attendants will be on duty.
