Obituary for Sharon Lee McDonald (Willey)

Sharon Lee McDonald, 75, of Waltham formerly of Newton passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at 9:04 am from Renal Liver failure and complications due to COVID-19 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton, Ma.

Born to the late Milton and Dorothy Willey (Thayer) in Newport, Vermont on November 03, 1946.

Sharon was a wonderful wife, an outstanding mother, perfect daughter, amazing sister, aunt, cousin, and friend who touched the lives of those around her in ways you can only imagine. A nurturer at heart Sharon devoted her life to helping, loving, and caring for her family. With her compassion for being a personal caregiver for elderly patients and the joy and happiness, she received from playing bingo with her gossip girls. taking vacations all over New England and returning to celebrate the famous Woodward Family Reunions back in Newport, VT her hometown. To her Table-Talk with everyone and anyone of back in the good old days that she loved oh so much. She was and will always be a beautiful soul and a breath of fresh air.

She is truly missed and will always remain in our hearts.

Sharon is predeceased by her husband Richard J. Woodard and her son Doug McDonald.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her Son Bernard McDonald, his wife Jeanne of Waltham, Daughter Ann Marie Elliot, her loving and devoted Grandchildren Tyler McDonald, Brianna Marie Elliot, Scott J. Thurston, Zachary, Andrew, and Mathew McDonald as well as Catherine McDonald.

Family and Friends are respectfully invited to gather and remember the love Sharon shared during Visiting hours from 6-7 pm on Friday, January 28, 2022. Followed by a Celebration of her life beginning at 7 pm in The Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons Memorial Chapels, located at 773 Moody Street Waltham, MA. Parking Attendants will be on staff.
