Obituary for Louis John DiPietro

Of Belmont, passed away Sunday evening December 30, 2018 in his home at the age of 95.

He was the cherished son of the late Ciriaco DiPietro and Evelyn (Cancellieri).

A graduate of Belmont High School, Louis was employed as a Operating Engineer with Trimont Bitomanis Company and a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local #4 in Boston.

Mr. DiPietro, a World War II veteran, was a proud member of the United States Army from 1943 until honorably discharged in 1945.

Beloved husband of the late Viola Joan (Calo) DiPietro.

He is survived by his devoted & loving children: Louis J. DiPietro Jr. and his wife Sandra of Belmont, Gerard J. DiPietro and his wife Ann of Waltham, Deborah A. Gottshall and her husband Gregg of Pennsylvania, Joyce B. DiPietro of Georgia and Janet M. DiPietro of Virginia, and sister in laws Jean DiPietro of Belmont and Rose DiPietro of Peabody. In addition he is survived by 5 cherished grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.

Dear brother of the late Michael J. DiPietro, Alfonso C. DiPietro, Philip J. DiPietro and twin Sr. Mary Evelyn DiPietro A.S.C., Joseph A. DiPietro, Anthony DiPietro, (infant) Maryann DiPietro, Mary Ann DiPietro and Gerard A. DiPietro.

Funeral Services in celebration of Louis' Life will be held from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 325 Trapelo Road, BELMONT on Monday morning Jan. 7th at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Luke's Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont at 10:00 a.m. Interment with United States Army Military Honors will follow at Saint Patrick's Cemetery in Watertown. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Sunday Jan. 6th from 2 - 5 p.m.
