John Coffey

Of Medfield. Passed away, Tuesday, March 20, 2019 at Norwood Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 71.

John grew up as a resident of the Wrentham Developmental Center until he was 30, when he moved to the Walter E. Fernald Center in Waltham, where he lived until moving to Medfield 10 years ago.

Mr. Coffey worked in both the Wrentham Developmental Center’s Green House and the Waverly Green House at the Fernald Center. He was later employed at the Can and Bottle Redemption Center in Waltham.

John loved to garden and could be found puttering around in the dirt. He even built his own personal green house. He also loved building models and going to country fairs, especially the Cracker Barrel Fair in Wrentham.

John touched many lives and leaves many friends from the Wrentham Developmental Center, The Fernald Center, and his home in Medfield

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of John’s life at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., Waltham, Thursday, March, 28, 2019 at 11 am. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10 -11 am. Parking attendants will be on duty.
