Isabelo Aviles Rivera

Of Waltham, passed away peacefully early Saturday evening October 12th, 2019 at the U-Mass Memorial Marlborough Hospital at the age of 91.

Born on November 5, 1927 in Orocovis, Puerto Rico; son of the late Nazario Aviles and Amelia Aviles. Isabelo resided in Waltham for most of his life until moving in with his son in Marlborough 19 years ago.

He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War and was the recipient of the Bronze Battle Star.

Isabelo was predeceased by his beloved wife Asuncion Aviles in 2016 and his loving daughter Daisy Aviles in 1995.

Isabelo is survived by his devoted & loving children Waltham Firefighter Nelson Aviles and his wife Mildred of Marlborough and their son his 17th grandchild Nelson Nazario Aviles all of Marlborough with whom Isabelo shared a special bond and lived with for the past 15 years; Lillian Gamble of Westminster; Edwin Aviles of New Mexico; Richard Aviles of Gardner, Miriam Aviles of Framingham, Nancy Aviles of Southboro. In addition he is survived by 2 sisters, 17 cherished grandchildren, 11 adoring great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Thursday October 17th from 4 - 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Isabelo's Life will be held in Saint Mary's Church, 145 School Street, Waltham at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham.
