Obituary for Kenneth M. "Ken" Doucette

Kenneth Michael Doucette 62,

Of Belmont died unexpectedly on Sunday October 27th at Mount Auburn Hospital where he was taken after being stricken at his home.

Born on March 22, 1957 in Waltham, Massachusetts and was the son of the late Daniel R. Doucet and MaryRose ( Maselli ) Doucet.

Ken was a longtime resident of Belmont. He was active participant in the Day Workshop Program at Opportunities for inclusion, formerly known as GWARC, in Waltham for many years. Ken was a very social man with a contagious sense of humor, and valued his relationships with his family and friends, and especially his sister Lisa, his housemates, WCI staff and his long time co-workers at the Day Program.

Kenneth’s interest included watching his favorite television programs, keeping up with his TV guide, calendars and wristwatches, cooking, music group, dances and celebrating his and his friends birthdays.

He is survived by his sister Lisa Doucet and her wife Lisa Gerlach of Attleboro, his brothers Mark Doucet and his wife Neva Cooper of Kingston, Steven Doucet and his husband Ralph Darrell Griffin of Walnut Creek, California. In addition he is survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins, and his housemates, Donald, Richard and Jose’.

A Celebration of Kenneth’s Life will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham on Friday evening at 5:00 P.M. Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be on Friday from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Interment will be private. Parking attendants will be on duty.
