Obituary for Romelia Lopez (Gonzalez)
Of Waltham, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon December 28, 2019 surrounded by her loving family in her home at the age of 79.
Born on October 24, 1940 in El Progresso, Jutiapa, Guatemala; daughter of the late Andres Gonzalez and Eduviges (Contreras) Gonzalez. Romelia was raised in Guatemala; immigrating to the United States in 1998 and has been a resident of Waltham for the past 22 years.
Romelia was a devoted homemaker throughout her life.
In her spare time she enjoyed going to church, cooking, going to the gym, and spending time with family.
Romelia is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years Orlando Raquel Lopez; her devoted & loving children Sandra, Mayra, Henry, Loidy, Amalfi, Mirlam, Alex, Willy Josue, Willy Orlando, and Jessica; her cherished 16 grandchildren; and her dear sisters Sara Gonzalez and Irma Gonazalez. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Romelia's Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM, on Saturday January 4th. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial on Saturday evening from 5 - 9 p.m. Burial will take place in Guatemala.
