Obituary for Jeannine M. Gauvin (Arsenault)

Jeannine M. (Arsenault) Gauvin

Of Leominster, formerly of Waltham, passed away on Saturday evening May 7, 2022, with her devoted & loving son by her side in Marlborough Hospital at the age 70.

Born on February 16, 1952 in St. Anthony, New Brunswick, Canada; daughter of the late Henrie Arsenault and Neilda (Legere) Arsenault. Jeannine was raised and educated in New Brunswick; she moved with her family to the United States at a very young age and resided in Waltham for over 50 years before moving to Leominster 5 years ago.

She had been employed as an Electronic Technician at the Raytheon Corporation in Waltham for years before working at M.I.T.

Jeannine loved animals, and all things outdoors in nature. She always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, dancing and socializing at the French-American Victory Club in Waltham. She was a hard worker, selfless and always wanting to help and provide for others even if she had to without. Jeannine was an incredible mother and grandmother; she cherished the times spent with her son and grandchildren.

Jeannine is survived by her devoted & loving son Derrick M. Gauvin and his wife Kerry (Herlihy) Gauvin of Chelmsford; her cherished grandchildren Matthew J. Gauvin and Ava Mae Gauvin; her dear siblings Donald Arsenault and his wife Simone of New Brunswick; Wilma Melanson and her husband Norman of Leominster; and Gloria Roy and her husband Omer of Leominster; her friend and former husband Clarence "Hank" Gauvin; and her companion Roger Mailloux. In addition she is survived by many nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

She was predeceased by her parents and dear siblings Livi Arsenault, Paul Arsenault, and George Henrie Arsenault.

Family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Jeannine's life and remember the love and friendship she shared with others at a Funeral Service in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St. WALTHAM on Saturday afternoon May 14th at 12:00 pm.

Those who wish to pay their respects to Jeannine and her family can do so in the Mary Catherine Chapel on Saturday morning prior to the service from 10am until 12pm. We ask that friends be mindful and respectful of social gatherings.
