Obituary for Francis Anthony "Fran" Yerardi

Francis "Fran" A. Yerardi

Of Newton, passed away peacefully Friday morning April 29th, 2022, with his loving family by his side at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was 79 years old.

Fran was born on August 11, 1942 in Newton; he was the son of the late Joseph Yerardi and Florence (Lancelote) Yerardi. Fran was raised, educated, and had been a lifelong resident of Newton.

He was a graduate of Newton High School with the Class of 1960; Fran worked alongside his brother at Weston Automotive for over 20 years until owning and operating his own shop, Lincoln Automotive in Lincoln for almost 20 years. He was a member of the Weston Jaycees for years and a passionate car racing enthusiast.

Fran's life revolved around his family. It was his everything; his greatest enjoyment came from being surrounded by family and friends. He coached his son's hockey teams and coached many other baseball and football youth teams in Wellesley. He had a passion for sports and was a huge New York sports fan, but the Boston Bruins were his favorite. He also had a special love for animals, especially dogs.

He is survived by his devoted & loving family: Kristin (Yerardi) Sullivan and her husband Glen of Melrose; Derek Yerardi and his wife Kristen of Bedford; his cherished grandchildren Brady Patrick Sullivan, Regan Emma Sullivan, Astrid Svenja Yerardi, Tova Merete Yerardi, and the late Conleigh Rose Sullivan. In addition, he is survived by his loving companion of 17 years Carole M. Capello of Newton, and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

He was the brother of the late Victor Yerardi and the late Ronald Yerardi.

Those who wish to pay their respects to Fran and his family can do so in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham on Tuesday evening May 3rd from 5 pm until 8 pm. For those who we love and care about, the family asks attendees to be mindful of social gatherings and please wear a mask.

Family and friends are also welcome to gather and celebrate Fran's life and remember the love and friendship he shared with others at a Funeral Service in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham on Wednesday morning May 4th at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham.
