Margaret M. (Troiano) Whalen
Of Belmont, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 7th, 2022 at Lahey Clinic & Medical Center in Burlington at the age of 80.
Born on April 29, 1942 in Boston; beloved daughter of the late Angelo Troiano and Isabel (Henriques) Troiano. Margaret was raised in Cambridge and has resided in Belmont since 1968.
Margaret cherished her family and valued her faith. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother & great grandmother. Margaret worked for the Town of Belmont as a cafeteria lunch aide at the Kendall Elementary School. She also worked for a period of time at the Waverly Co-operative Bank.
For many years, Margaret enjoyed bowling in a league at the Waverley Square Bowling Alley.
Margaret is survived by her devoted & loving children; Michelle Madden and her husband John of Belmont; Steven Whalen and his wife Kim of Belmont; Maureen Frohne of Belmont; and David Whalen and his wife Mary of Billerica; her cherished grandchildren Kevin and his wife Christina, Matthew, Alex, Lauren, Caroline, Jared, Kendall, Kaylee, Angelina and Brooke, and adoring great grandchildren Emma and Cam.
She was predeceased by her loving son Richard "Richie" Whalen.
Family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Margaret's life and remember the love and friendship she shared with others at a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday morning May 13th at Saint Luke's Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
Those who wish to pay their respects to Margaret and her family can do so in the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 325 Trapelo Road, BELMONT on Thursday May 12th from 4pm until 8pm.
