Of Needham, formerly of Belmont, passed away peacefully with loving family by his side on Saturday afternoon September 3rd, 2016 in Care One Center of Newton at the age of 88.
Born on May 7, 1928 in Boston; son of the late Gennaro and Jennie (Bonfilio) Testa, Gene lived most of his life in Belmont and has resided in Needham for the past 14 years. He spent many summers with his family at their home in Manomet.
A graduate of Belmont High School, Gene furthered his education with courses in Accounting. He was employed as a Certified Public Accountant throughout his life. He operated his own CPA firm in Waltham and Somerville for years.
Gene was a member of the Watertown Sons of Italy Piave Fiume Lodge #1036. In his spare time he loved to travel, he enjoyed spending time whether at the beach or boating on the ocean. He liked watching television, following football and horse racing.
He was the steadfast and devoted husband to his late wife, Frances (Mosca) Testa for 49 years until her passing in 2000.
He is survived by his dedicated wife of 14 years, Julia (Mariano) Testa. He was a loving & supportive father to his children Beverly LeBlanc and her husband Roy, Gerard Testa and his wife Mar-cia, Carolyn Herron and her husband, David, and Joanne Williams and her husband, Don. Gene was the cherished grandfather of 12 and great grandfather of 2 and was also loved by many nieces and nephews. In addition he is survived by Julia’s children Carrie Jelfs and her husband, Stephen, Robert Inguanti, Susan Gorog, and her husband Robert, and Steven Inguanti and his wife, Nicole, as well as her 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 325 Trapelo Rd., BELMONT on Friday morning Sept. 9th at 9:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Eugene’s life at Saint Joseph’s Church, Belmont at 10:30 a.m. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday Sept. 8th from 4 – 7 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking.
