Vincent Gallello
Of Newton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, after a lengthy illness, Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston. He was 83.
Born and raised in Monte Peron, Italy to the late Giovanni and Francesca (Russo) Gallello, he moved to Auburndale in his teens and has been a resident ever since.
Shortly after finishing high school, Vincent joined the United States Army, where he served honorably during the Korean war.
Mr. Gallello worked as a heavy equipment operator for the city of Newton for over 30 years.
Vincent will be remembered as a man who enjoyed the simple things in life especially being with family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Santa (LeChiara) Gallello, and his devoted children Vincent Gallello, Jr. of Newton, Lisa Boudreau and her husband Edgar of Nashua, Frances Gallello of Nashua, Theresa Gallello of Newton, Frank Gallello and his wife Paula (Hawe) of Holbrook, MA, and Tina Gallello Of Newton. He is also survived by 11 cherished grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Sam, John, Frank, and Tony Gallello
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services from the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Tuesday at 9 a.m. With a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Vincent's life at St. Bernard's Church, 1523 Washington St., Newton at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4-8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
